The minsk was copied from the pre-WWII design of the German DKW rt125.(Its been said that the Minsk may have been produced from a copy of the DKW with Permission before WWII.) Many copies of the dkw showed up around the world by other motorcycle companies. The Minsk was produced in the city of Minsk in the soviet state of Belarus
